A Community Who Really Understand
Our support groups bring together people who really understand what it is like, to discuss and share the challenges and fears, as well as accomplishments and 'top tip' ideas. In our experience this can have such a positive impact on a person's wellbeing and coping skills as they adjust to a new life.

Experiencing acquired brain injury is a traumatic event and can be life-altering for those involved. Physical changes are more visible, but mental health, memory and cognitive problems, and changed behaviours, are often experienced and may be less well understood. Relationships can become tested and the future can look very different to what everyone expected.

Living with the impact of ABI is tough emotionally, mentally and physically. Being able to meet with and talk to others with similar lived experience can be massively beneficial.

Need to Know
Because Somerset is a vast County it can be difficult to find other people impacted by acquired brain injury. Our Support Groups connect people in their locality, or with others with similar interests and goals, to share their experiences and assist each other through the recovery journey.

The dates and locations of our Support Groups are shown on our EVENTS page.
