Headway Somerset

Headway Somerset is an independent charity, affiliated to Headway UK. We provide social and cognitive rehabilitation for adults with brain injury and support and respite for their families through our three Brain Injury Outreach Units based in Bridgwater, Henton and Yeovil.

We take referrals for anyone over the age of 16 years and provide a range of individually tailored programmes designed to maximise their quality of life, independence and self esteem. We also work closely with family members who are often the main carers which can be very stressful and can lead to family breakdown due to the issues related to living with brain injury.

Our Outreach Service, is designed to give much more intensive one-to-one support to clients who need help to work towards some degree of independence. This might include developing social networks in their local community, providing them with domestic skills, helping them access employment or education or helping their families to deal with the stress that brain injury can bring to a family.
