| 2022 PRO AM Our friends at Taunton and Pickeridge Golf Club are holding their first event for us The 2022 Pro Am is set to take place on FRIDAY 1st JULY. This event is one of the highlights of the golfing year at Taunton and Pickeridge with forty or so professional golfers from the South-West competing for a substantial prize fund. Each professional and their three amateur players form a team competing for the amateurs’ prize table. This will be the 30th Pro Am held annually since the Club’s Centenary in 1992, with the exception of 2020. Over the years, thanks to the tremendous efforts of the Organising Committee, Club Staff and volunteer helpers from the membership, the event has grown into probably one of the most respected and anticipated Pro Am on the South-West circuit. Whilst the event is primarily a serious golf competition for the professionals, it is also an enjoyable social occasion. It gives the Club a chance to show itself off to all those visiting participants, with the course in its best summer condition and the Clubhouse with all its versatile facilities. We are delighted that Gibbs Plumbing Supplies Ltd have yet again agreed to be our Main Sponsor. The enthusiasm and determination of Eric and his guests to enjoy the day is legendary! The Pro Am is also an opportunity for our Club Captain, Rob Darvell, and the Ladies Captain, Annie George, to raise funds for their chosen charities. Rob and Annie have decided to follow recent trends and combine their fund raising throughout their tenures; their charity is Headway Somerset. This local charity supports people in Somerset who have suffered a head trauma, whether it be an accidental head injury or one resulting from a medical condition. Their work is so very important in aiding individuals and their families to recovery and overcome the difficulties faced.
